The National Youth Agency: NCB's new governance structures

1 min read
NCB members have voted in a new governance structure that trustees and staff have been developing for two years.

NCB is now equipped with a new constitution and a slimmed down board of trustees, which will permit a more focused approach to governing the organisation. The board of trustees will not be drawn from the different categories of NCB's membership as in the past, but selected in accordance with an agreed set of governance criteria, skills and experience. Two young people appointed by Young NCB will also have seats on the board.

Crucially, NCB has also used the restructuring as an opportunity to improve member influence on the governance of the organisation with the introduction of a membership forum. The forum will be drawn from the full breadth of members but will also include representatives of NCB's fora, councils, networks and partner organisations. The forum also provides for four representatives from Young NCB.
