Scotland: Rollout for home visiting scheme

A pilot project providing intensive home visiting for young children is to be modified and rolled out across Glasgow according to guidelines from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, following criticisms of poor partnership working.

The Starting Well project will receive 1.6m from the Scottish Executive to focus on targeting vulnerable families over the next year. An independent evaluation of the project criticised a "lack of ownership" beyond health partners in the scheme.
