Youth workers will be subject to multidisciplinary inspections under plans to overhaul child protection in Scotland, education minister Peter Peacock said this week.
Peacock told YPN changes to the inspection regime were a vital part of the Scottish Executive's reforms: "It is essential we inspect services that deal with young people who are at risk as a whole."
Scotland's youth work and schools watchdog HM Inspectorate of Education will head up the inspections, which are due to start in December.
The inspection changes coincided with the publication of the Children's Charter, which sets out what young people can expect from professional services.
