
I believe that being in charge of schools would be such a huge job, as everybody has to attend them. It is where we, as young people, develop our personalities, learn values, make friends and, most importantly, get qualifications.
The outcome of the rest of our lives is based on those first 18 years. I feel that too many public examinations are unnecessary so I would first abolish the year 3 and year 9 Sats tests as I think this would put less stress on students.
Second, I would allow all students to wear their own clothes, within a smart dress code, as I believe wearing a uniform blocks young people's creativity and sense of individuality. Furthermore, it is a waste of money paying for a uniform that you have grown out of after a few months.
