Sailing forward: All aboard the Friend Ship in Liverpool

More than 10,000 Liverpool schoolchildren will board the Friend Ship, an interactive learning exhibition, between now and Christmas.

The project, part of Liverpool's Faith in One City celebrations, aims to help children learn about issues such as tolerance, diversity and friendship and to understand more about the city's history.

The ship, which will visit 30 primary and special schools during the current school term, has a cargo of treasure chests that hold learning materials.

Its first port of call in September was Rice Lane Infants School in Walton.
