Festivals are one way to relive your youth and chill out with the kids.

The festival season is upon us again. You can smell it in the air. Across the land, camper vans are being prepared for the coming summer of love, peace and getting back to nature, in a field with stinking toilet pits and a quarter of a million others all thinking the same thing.

Trips to supermarkets to stock up on herbal tea, bottled water, toilet rolls and lager are de rigueur. Patchwork trousers and cheesecloth tops flap on washing lines. Preparations for keeping the children happy are essential - it's their weekend too, you know. Cuddle cloths, changes of clothing and wellies are packed along with Game Boys and wet wipes, in case site water supplies are too far away.
