Resources: Review - An art pack that actually gets creativityflowing

2 mins read

Part of a wider series of artwork resources, this project book provides opportunities for work around heritage and culture. With references to colonialism, fascism and capitalist societies, this pack is definitely not just "art for art's sake", but a good way of exploring challenging issues with young people.

Artists from Picasso to the Black urban painter Chris Ofili and my personal hero Andy Warhol are included, and the author suggests a wide range of ideas that encourage young people to think of their own cultural heritage.

All of this makes the pack ideal to use as part of the citizenship curriculum since it covers themes including stereotypes, the global village and media.
