It is assumed that these new measures will result in improved family court practice with regard to child contact and domestic violence.
But the Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service (Cafcass) does not have national policies on domestic violence or risk assessment, the Framework for the Assessment of Children in Need and their Families hardly mentions domestic violence, and the brief guidance on domestic violence in Working Together to Safeguard Children often seems to be ignored.
