What it is: Mental Health Matters is a strategic programme for Wales set up by the Big Lottery Fund.

Its main aims are to promote the rehabilitation and independence ofpeople with mental health problems, support those at greatest risk ofdeveloping mental health problems and support those who are at greatestrisk of suicide.

How much is on offer: The programme has 15m to spend but has nospecific brackets for individual grants.

What it will fund: Mental Health Matters will fund projects helping toovercome the barriers that people with mental health problems face,including low self-esteem and isolation. At least 75 per cent ofapplicants' beneficiaries must live in Wales. Money can go towardsrevenue funding and up to five per cent of the grant, to a maximum of49,999, can be spent on capital costs.
