How much is on offer: In the current round there are 30 awards of up to1,000 available. The closing date for this round is 22 June.
What it will fund: Projects for this round must take place betweenSeptember and November 2007. The awards will fund dynamic, original,youthful and lasting projects. The projects need to help children andyoung people who live in areas of deprivation or maybe excluded andisolated. Projects must relate to one of the following themes: health;education; or safety and protection.
Who can apply: The awards look for project ideas that are youngpeople-led and organisations that want to involve young people in ameaningful way. Priority is given to communities and groups facingdiscrimination and disadvantage in society.
Who it has funded: In the past, grants have been used for a variety ofthings including making short films and music about bullying, racism andsafety issues.
In the last round, a young person living in Birmingham in supportedhousing for young people who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness,won a grant to run a project to empower and train other young people.The aim is to enable them to become representatives on the housingproject's board.
