Resources: Funding Focus - Yapp Charitable Trust

1 min read

What does it fund? Its categories are: elderly people; young people aged five to 25; people with disabilities or mental health problems; those coping with social problems such as addiction, relationship difficulties or a history of offending; and education and learning. It doesn't support capital expenditure such as buildings or equipment but is happy to support core costs of small charities that match trust objectives. Other exclusions include childcare, work with under-fives and general community organisations.

Who can apply? Charities registered in Wales and England that have been operating for at least three years and that have an annual turnover of less than 60,000. Examples in recent years include Ieuenctid Tysul Youth, which received 1,000 towards staffing costs for a drop-in centre working with young people in West Wales, MENFA in Cardiff, which received 4,500 over three years towards running costs of a youth mentoring scheme, and the New Hope Partnership, which received 2,500 towards salary costs of a worker to give educational support to young refugees in Birmingham.
