What will it fund? The main requirements are that projects must be of benefit to a community within the UK and must offer a learning opportunity to the young applicants. For young people, activities that are linked to the citizenship part of the national curriculum are encouraged and for older young people, the emphasis is on encouraging social entrepreneurship.
Support including training, advice and networking opportunities will be available. Case studies of the kind of project it is seeking to support include Mohammed, who set up a helpline for young Muslims, and students from a south London school, who set up a tuck shop to encourage friends to eat more healthily.
