What will it fund? Work with young people involved in, or at risk of becoming involved in, gun or knife crime or gang activity. It will also support projects working with victims and families affected by these crimes, including measures such as supporting witnesses during trials. A third category supports work that involves young people and other under-represented groups in decision-making processes for law enforcement agencies tackling gun and knife crime. Projects more likely to be successful include mentoring schemes, diversionary activities for young people and support services for victims and witnesses. Films and other educational resources are less likely to be funded.
