Resources: Funding focus - Connected

1 min read

What will it support? This month sees the launch of the sixth round of funding, which focuses on responding to gang issues. Funding will go towards three types of project. First, those that work with young people involved in, or at risk of becoming involved in, gang activity. Second, those that support victims of gang activity, for example supporting witnesses during trials. And third, those that support the involvement of local people, especially 16- to 25-year-olds, in making decisions about how law enforcement agencies can deal with gangs.

Specific types of project likely to be funded include mentoring and training programmes for young people and well-targeted diversionary activities such as sports projects. Less likely to be funded are film or music projects about gun crime, or educational resources.
