How did you get into this? I was working for Quarriers for two years, on a project for homeless young people called Rooftops. This position became available and I applied.
Why is your work important? These children are our future and they're growing up thinking that nobody cares. A lot of adults don't find themselves with the kind of responsibility that some of these young people have. They're so grateful for the little you can do. The Scottish Executive has said that every secondary school must have a facility for young carers. But it takes me 32 hours a week and it's still not enough.
