How did you get into this? I began volunteering at 16, after a friend introduced me to Victim Support. I knew that I wanted to work with young people but it was different to anything I had ever expected. I fell in love with its core values and felt it had the potential to invoke mass change.

What next? I am moving to another young people's project at Victim Support Lewisham where I will be the project officer. There I will be running the project.

What are the challenges of working with young victims? They are so misunderstood. Young people are often labelled yobs and no-one wants to take them seriously. A big part of my job is encouraging young victims to see they are important and are worth something - it's often about self-esteem. They have so much potential and I want them to see that.
