The Institute worked with the Nestle Trust to develop the Exercise Your Choice sports programme, which will offer young people at 40 clubs activities such as street dance, skateboarding and basketball. Clubs receive an equipment package of 400 and can apply for additional grants worth 250 for new sports.
Lisa McHendry, manager of Exercise Your Choice, said: "Nestle's funding will be matched by the Government and we hope it will continue next year. The aim is to run the programme as a membership benefit for all Make Space clubs."
Kids' Clubs Network, which runs Make Space with funding from the Nestle Trust, held its first annual conference in London last week to launch its five-step manifesto (YPN, 5-11 November, p2).
