Promoting the Health and Wellbeing of Looked After Children - revised statutory guidance.

Health Social Care
This consultation is seeking views on revisions made to Promoting the Health of Looked After Children, the existing guidance published by the Department of Health in 2002.

Through the Care Matters white paper, the government committed to revising the guidance to make it statutory for all primary care trusts (PCTs) and strategic health authorities in England, as well as local authorities.

PCTs and local authorities are the key bodies within children's trusts responsible for improving health outcomes of looked-after children and young people. The guidance will give these agencies direction on enhancing delivery of services and promoting their wellbeing and welfare. The revised guidance will be issued under Section 10 of the Children Act 2004, and the results will be published in September.

Closing date: 3 August.
