Goals: To create more understanding between young people and the elderly

Funding: 134,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund; 36,000 from The Rank Foundation, plus grants from the Goldsmiths' Company, the Vintners' Company and the Morris Charitable Trust

A three-year intergenerational project by environmental charity Groundwork has been helping to foster greater understanding between young and old in the King's Cross area of London.

The project, Up To No Good, was set up by Groundwork Camden and Islington.

Six projects will take place over the next three years. In the first one, 12 octogenarians met 20 teenagers aged 11 to 18, who got involved following outreach work by Groundwork.
