Goals: To raise expectations among under-16s and empower them to try new activities and take ideas forward
Funding: The project will get approximately 400,000 over the next five years from partners including Sport England, South Holland District Council, Lincolnshire Health Authority and Lincolnshire Community Council
As a rural area, South Holland in Lincolnshire did not always have that much to offer young people. But this all changed in 2002 when the Vitality project was set up. The multi-agency project was created through South Holland District Council's Rural Action Zone, a concept to promote partnership working and improve rural life. Activities include basketball, street dance workshops, cycling roadshows and a skateboarding initiative.
