A high rate of driving accidents among Asian young men in the Blackburn area has prompted Blackburn North Healthy Living Centre to launch a project to improve their driving skills.

The Kick Start Safe Driving Project was the brainchild of community development officer Fareeha Ishtiaque, who felt that more prevention work was needed to help young men take driving seriously. "A lot of the young men, once they pass their driving test, tend to show off to friends, but many end up in accidents," says Ishtiaque.
