
Young people were also asked to rate the government's 14 to 19 reforms. Only half had heard of the new diploma, and of those who were familiar with it three-quarters said they would not consider doing it.
Almost all the young people questioned had received advice relating to GCSEs and A-levels, but only 41 per cent were told about diplomas at school or college.
Advice about education and training in general was also rated as poor by almost one-fifth of young people.
Christine Lewis, 14 to 19 representative for the union Unison, said professionals who don't support diplomas would be unable to offer young people appropriate advice on the qualification.
