I am keen to give feedback on the youth green paper Youth Matters. I have already filled in the questionnaire that came with the paper.
As a young person, I found the questionnaire a little bit patronising, although it was the right length. When it explained what the green paper was, I thought: "I know what it is". It could have been written in a more respectful way - it has almost been dumbed down too much.
The idea of a card for young people reminds me of the Connexions card. I hope that it will not be as awkward as Connexions cards have been. Points take a long time to get put on your card once you have earned them. But if they were more developed and everyone got one, it would be easier. The whole idea is blatant bribery, of course, but, if you can receive rewards, it might encourage more participation and I agree with the concept of encouraging young people to participate.
