This doesn't really sound like a policy document. Well it isn't, in the sense of it being full of direct recommendations. However, as a document that outlines some of the realities for this poorly understood minority group, it ought to be read by anyone who has a responsibility for the way in which services are provided. Interestingly in this respect, although the front page title reads "A guide for young trans people in the UK", the footers at the base of each page refer to it as "A guide to young trans people in the UK".
Who's behind it? It's been produced by a group of 15- to 22-year-old trans young people involved in arts project "Sci:dentity". They had struggled to find reliable material that helped them come to terms with their identities. The group wanted to provide other young people with the fruits of their own research.
