Under the scheme, Steve Bullock, mayor of Lewisham, will join registration teams from Lewisham Youth Service at secondary schools, colleges and shopping centres to encourage young people aged 16 and above to register now in preparation for voting when they turn 18.
Bullock said: "Voter apathy at election times is well publicised, despite young people often being highly motivated and interested in the social issues we all face today.
"So it is important that we go out and talk to young people about why we want them to register and how they can use their right to vote."
Young people can hand in forms, visit www.lewisham.gov. uk/electoralservices or phone 020 8314 6086.
