PARTICIPATION: Camden project follows elections

The Electoral Commission has given 23,000 to Camden Council and the Camden Civic Society from its New Initiatives Fund. They will use the money to address political apathy among young people.

The project will include the chance to put questions to candidates and work as poll clerks on election days. The 15- and 17-year-olds will also follow the European and Assembly elections.

Jane Roberts, leader of Camden Council, said: "Young people told us that what they need to get them interested is much more information about how the political process works."
