The group, which will officially meet for the first time at the end ofthis month, will include Labour MP Frank Dobson, whose review ofchildren's play was the basis for the new lottery fund for play.
Others members are Labour MPs Helen Goodman, former chair of theChildren's Play Council, and ex-playworker Paddy Tipping. Labour peerLord Pendry, who successfully amended the Children Act 2004 to includerecreation, will also be a member.
Tipping said the group would highlight the importance of children's play"and then ensure Government responds". He added the group would closelymonitor the 155m lottery programme.
All-party groups bring together MPs interested in a particularsubject.
They have no formal powers but can help influence MPs' thinking.
