Outdoor education: Scheme to teach training to Asian young women

1 min read

About eight young women aged 18 and above will take up "train the trainer" courses in September.

The plan will be announced at a women's event arranged by the group for 18 August with the aim of promoting the concept of outdoor education as a career to Asian young women.

An Asian female instructor will be leading the course, said Salima Hafejee, director of the partnership: "For many Asian young women, if they don't see someone they can relate to doing something like this, they won't think it's for them, as it is outside their experience."

The eight-week training programme will include outdoor residentials and qualifications.
