Opinion: If I were in charge of ... school - William Steele, 9, Streatham

1 min read
If I were in charge of school, I would have less English, maths and science and more art, design and technology, music, information and communication technology, RE, history and PE. These are more fun subjects, but we seem to do maths, English and science all the time.

I would also let the children sit on chairs, because it hurts my back when we sit on the carpet for a long time. I think it would be good to have more drinks and snacks, not just in school but also in church and at other clubs and activities.

I would try to stop people covering everything in horrible graffiti.

Some graffiti looks nice, but most of it is ugly and it spoils the look of the environment.

I would definitely do something to stop bullies in school. I would put more adults on duty in the playground and have more personal, social and health education lessons to teach people not to be bullies.
