While recognising and supporting the move by the UK Youth Parliament to develop a specialised accreditation scheme to recognise the outstanding efforts of its members (YPN, 4-10 October, p6), we would like to highlight the fact that we have developed our own specialised accreditation and have been successfully running it for well over a year now.

At Funky Dragon (the Children and Young People's Assembly for Wales) all of our members, aged 11 to 25, are able to complete an Open College Network (OCN) Level 2 called "The Ins and Outs of Funky Dragon". There is also encouragement for over-16s to complete the Millennium Volunteers scheme. They receive accreditation for the many and varied skills they acquire as a result of their work with Funky Dragon.
