The Caroline Walker Trust has recommended that schools should notadvertise branded food and drink products on school premises, equipmentor books, and should ensure that any collaborations with business do notrequire endorsement of brands or specific company products. Statutoryfood-based standards for school breakfast clubs will restrict choices,but children may be unable to distinguish those better choices within astrong brand culture outside of school. There is no place in schools forany product, or brand, endorsement.

We have a Greggs breakfast club and it seems to work well for us. It'sgood for the children and it gets them into school. They come in at 8amand there are all sorts of foods. We're trying to make it healthier. Theonly product that Greggs provides is bread but they also give us acertain amount of money every month and with that we buy all the otherthings that we need. We couldn't do it without them. The children fromthis area wouldn't turn up if they had to buy it.
