UK register to boost breakfast clubs

1 min read Education Health
Cereal manufacturer Kellogg's and education charity ContinYou have launched a national register to support the growth of breakfast clubs across the UK yesterday.

The National Breakfast Club Register will create a central record of existing clubs, develop guidance for them and will work to support the creation of new breakfast clubs.

Tony Apicella, business development director at ContinYou, said the move aimed to improve the quality of clubs and ensure all children in the UK have access to a decent breakfast.

"We want to raise the bar on breakfast clubs," he said. "Where there isn't provision already we want to help create breakfast clubs. Where there are excellent clubs we want to help make them into outstanding breakfast clubs."

The register is free to join and clubs that sign up will get access to the online guidance ContinYou has put together for its Breakfast Club Plus programme and a monthly email bulletin on the latest developments in breakfast clubs.
