Last year Members of Youth Parliament (MYPs) made the front page of The Times after bemoaning the state of sex education in schools. In the latest edition, Josh McTaggart, MYP for North Somerset, berates the government for sweeping the issue under the carpet. He calls for other students to start asking: "Am I getting it?" - sex education that is.
Over in Herefordshire, InSITE's Hannah Packwood is questioning whether better sex education is the answer to problems like teen pregnancy. Instead, she believes the benefits system could hold the key. "Whilst not advocating young mothers be thrown onto the streets, if young motherhood was less financially attractive, it might have a stronger effect than earlier sex education," says young Hannah.
