Aim To divert young people from crime

Young people in the North West are being steered clear of crime thanks to a new scheme created by the Youth Justice Board (YJB), youth offending teams and the Royal Air Force.

The initiative is in its second phase and taking place over a series of days at the Altcar training camp in Formby.

It aims to engage young people between the ages of 10 and 17, from Bolton, Liverpool, Wigan, Salford and Trafford, who are at risk of becoming involved in crime or antisocial behaviour.

The young people take part in team-building exercises and have use of the facilities, including an aircraft simulator and climbing wall.
