Temple/Shafton Youth Project, Glasgow
I began coming to the club about five years ago. It was better than going out on the streets on a Friday night. Instead we could go on computers, read, do arts and crafts or play pool. We also went on trips. One I went on included boogie boarding, cliff jumping and gorge walking.
I became a volunteer three months ago because I've always wanted to be a youth worker. My job involves organising programmes that include lots of different things, such as days out and activities during the holidays.
About 150 young people are involved and there are groups available for ages five to 18. The club is so popular that we've got another 100 young people on the waiting list wanting to join.
