News in brief: Commissioners - MP calls for equal responsibilities

Fourteen MPs have so far signed up to a campaign to give the Welsh children's commissioner powers over non-devolved issues such as youth justice.

An Early Day Motion laid down by Hywel Williams welcomes proposals to appoint an English commissioner, but says that each of the four commissioners should have equal responsibilities.

Williams calls for amendments to the Children Bill to extend the powers of the Welsh commissioner to cover all children's issues.
