A network has been launched for young people who want to fight for the rights of sufferers of neuromuscular conditions.

The Trailblazers network, established by the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign, is looking to recruit 16- to 30-year-olds. Regional groups of 10 campaigners will organise their own initiatives, such as social events or managing websites.

The network is being established with £250,000 from youth volunteering charity v.

Judith Merry, 19, a Trailblazers ambassador, said: "We will have the chance to work on projects that are important to us. Topics can be anything we feel strongly about, such as better support at school and university or increased access to transport and leisure facilities."
