NCB Now: The impact of personalisation

1 min read
Personalisation is a relatively new concept in children's services but has been established in adult services for some time.

Personalisation has two overlapping aims:

CDC has been exploring personalisation and its potential impact across the disabled children's sector. It began this process by exploring the issues with young disabled people, and the organisations that represent them, and looked at their hopes and fears.

It has now formally established a working group with the Association of Directors of Children's Services (ADCS) to look at personalisation from a local authority perspective. We also have a CDC-based working group of third sector organisations which focuses on their issues of concern.

The key government piece of work on this to date has been on piloting Individual Budgets in six areas of England and we have worked closely with all agencies on emerging lessons.
