NCB Now: The Age of Stupid shown at NCB

1 min read
NCB held a free screening of The Age of Stupid at its offices in July. Young people, NCB employees, government representatives and external partners were invited, with over 100 people attending.

The Age of Stupid is a film starring Pete Postlethwaite as a man living alone in the devastated future world of 2055. The film sees him watching footage from 2008 and asking: "Why didn't we stop climate change when we had the chance?"

NCB chief executive Paul Ennals introduced the event, which began with presentations on NCB's work on sustainable development. Jo Butcher, assistant director for health, wellbeing and environment at NCB, chaired the evening. She reminded attendees that, while society has to date failed to appreciate the urgency and scale of the action needed, it is important that we are not disheartened but inspired to act together and to mobilise our members and beneficiaries to make a difference.
