NCB Now: Survey shows support for free travel

1 min read
An online survey found that 97 per cent of people who responded support free bus travel for young people in London.

The survey, by NCB with Play England and Young NCB, asked both adultsand young people their views on the possibility of scrapping theexisting scheme of free bus travel for under-16s and under-18s ineducation.

Adrian Voce, director of Play England, said: "It has never been moreimportant for young people to have the freedom to move around theirtowns, cities and neighbourhoods. Young NCB has identified transport andtravel as a major priority for its members and they see the policy inLondon as a shining example of what can be done if authorities arecommitted to enabling young people to access 'things to do and places togo'. To reverse this policy now would be a serious setback."
