Many families with disabled children struggle to access good-quality, timely health services. Four out of five families report that they are still in need of vital equipment from their primary care trust.
The Charter sets out nine commitments to sign up to by January 2009, including identifying a children's lead with specific responsibility for disabled children and demonstrating effective partnerships - both with local authority partners and adult service providers.
