Children in Wales co-ordinates the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Children in Wales, chaired by Julie Morgan MP, which meets to consider issues relating to the welfare of children in Wales.
The group recently examined the Equality Bill currently before Parliament. The bill introduces a public sector duty to eliminate unlawful discrimination, advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations. However, schools and children's homes have been excluded from the duty in relation to age for under-18s and APPG members are examining this issue.
The APPG will also discuss how the recession is affecting the voluntary sector.
