Children in Wales has joined the Welsh Tobacco Control Alliance (WTCA), a partnership managed by Ash Wales to enable voluntary sector organisations involved with tackling tobacco to inform and influence policy development.
The WTCA vision is a co-ordinated tobacco control strategy for Wales, which will progressively reduce the harm caused by tobacco and seek to improve health and wellbeing. Key objectives will be to: help prevent the uptake of tobacco use; reduce the number of users of tobacco products; and reduce exposure to tobacco smoke. The WTCA is presently finalising its manifesto, which includes specific priorities in relation to children and young people.
