New post to improve child protection practice within refugee organisations.

A new development officer post, designed to improve child protection practice within the Welsh Refugee Council and refugee community organisations, has been created at Children in Wales.

The guidance Development Officer: Child Protection Policy and Advice will provide specialist knowledge in this area and develop key links and improved partnership working with statutory agencies and the refugee sector. This should enable children and young people to have an increased level of protection so they can articulate their rights more easily.

The post is to be managed by Children in Wales and the Welsh Refugee Council.
