International conference explores the value of place

Place and community, as well as families, can shape children's lives, informing their sense of identity, social relationships and understanding of the world. Services have an important role to play in enhancing children's environments as well as in developing their understanding of place and community.

Further exploring the issues raised in issue 18 of Children in Europe magazine, A Sense of Place, an international conference being held on 8 June in Inverness, will provide a chance to focus on how services can engage with the communities they serve.
