NCB Now: Network discusses the Children Bill

Professionals attending a meeting of the Planning for Children Network, held at NCB on 12 November, heard how organisations are putting the Children Bill's proposals into practice.

Anna Hussein, head teacher at Millfields Community School in Hackney, which is open outside school hours, spoke about the benefits extended schools can offer the community.

Delegates also heard from Andrew Wells from the Audit Commission, about a new diagnostic tool the commission is developing to help auditors, local authorities and their partners to assess progress of the changes required to implement the Children Bill.

The network's next meeting is scheduled for April 2005.

- 020 7843 6332. Local authorities which are NCB members receive two free delegate places at network meetings.
