Camden's children services awarded top prize.

Camden Council's children's services department scooped the top prize at this year's Local Government Chronicle awards, having demonstrated excellent and innovative approaches to tackling problems and delivering a broad range of services to the London borough's children.

The annual awards recognise and reward outstanding service provision in local government. They are the biggest event in the local government calendar and celebrate the best achievements in the public sector.

Anne Baxter, director of children, schools and families at Camden Council, was delighted to receive the prize. She said: "This award is testament to the hard work and dedication of all our staff. We are committed to improving outcomes for Camden's children and young people and it is wonderful to have been recognised. We will continue to strive for excellence and innovation in this vital area and to make sure every young person gets the very best start in life."
