"Our youth conferencing scheme uses a restorative approach thatchallenges young people who have offended to meet with their victims andmake amends for their behaviour, as well as putting actions in place tohelp prevent further offending. It is a recent innovation in NorthernIreland and we are delighted with the results of a recent independentevaluation report that concluded that the conferencing process isprogressing well and has established itself as a mainstream approach toyoung people who come into contact with the criminal justice system.
