"Extern works directly with children, adults and communities in Northern Ireland who are affected by social exclusion. Over 60 per cent of our activity is with children.
Our latest project, Inside Out, is an intensive bail support programme, commissioned by the Youth Justice Agency for young people aged 10 to 17 years who would otherwise have been remanded in custody.
The community-based programme works with young people and their families to provide an alternative to custody. As a condition of bail it can offer up to 25 hours' intensive support and supervision per week to individual young people referred by the Youth Justice Agency throughout Northern Ireland.
