The Partnership Action in Rural Communities (Parc) pilot project helps young people to become actively involved in local decision-making processes.
So far, young people have undertaken consultation exercises over youth provision, made presentations to parish councils and represented their peers at a public meeting.
In addition, young people have been supported to apply for their own funding for activities they have chosen to organise. To date, groups have been granted over £30,000 for community events such as fun days, art workshops and quiz nights.
Over the course of the project, Young Lives have developed an Involving Young People training programme which is accredited through the Open College Network.
